As Director of Special Initiatives for the Sloan Consortium since 2001, I have been involved in developing and disseminating knowledge to advance the field of online education through a wide variety of activities and initiatives:

Effective Practices Editor - Developed over 70 effective practice descriptions for Sloan-C's Effective Practices database, a searchable, organized, and widely recognized source for knowledge about online learning.

- Editorial Board member, Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks. since JALN's inception in 1996. JALN was one of the very first "electronic" online journals and remains one of the top journals for knowledge about the field of online learning.
